Chess as a Career
Thursday 26th November 2020

Andrew Green’s passion for chess began early, and today, he’s the founder of Edinburgh Chess Academy, where he teaches students of all ages the valuable skills chess offers. His academy isn’t just about learning the game; it’s about fostering focus, resilience, and strategic thinking.

Andrew’s impact extends beyond his academy through a partnership with the Preston Lodge Learning Foundation, delivering chess tuition to students at Preston Lodge High School and its cluster primary schools, as well as running an afterschool chess club. He actively encourages students to take part in chess tournaments, helping them build confidence and competitive spirit while boosting cognitive development, academic performance, and life skills.

This video explores Chess as a Career, where Andrew shares how the game can lead to opportunities in professional play, coaching, and chess-related business ventures, showcasing how chess can be a gateway to diverse and rewarding career paths.
